Our client, a leading retail company, is seeking a Temporary Accounts Payable Analyst to join their accounting team. The ideal candidate will have strong end-to-end Accounts Payable experience in a high-volume environment, along with proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs. This is a 4–6 month contract opportunity.

  • Title: Temp AP Analyst
  • Location: NYC, NY 10020
  • Hours/Schedule: Mon-Fri, 9am -5pm (40 hour work week) (fully onsite)
  • Pay Rate: $25/hr - $30/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full-cycle Accounts Payable process, including invoice receipt, coding, approvals, and payment processing
  • Perform three-way matching (PO, invoice, and receiving documents)
  • Post journal entries and assist with month-end closing tasks
  • Reconcile AP sub-ledger to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare and cut checks, process ACH and wire payments
  • Respond promptly and professionally to vendor inquiries and maintain positive relationships
  • Support internal teams with payment-related reporting and account reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls
  • Assist with AP process improvements and automation initiatives as needed

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of full-cycle Accounts Payable experience, preferably in a retail environment
  • Hands-on experience with SAP
  • Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and month-end close processes
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced setting
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
