Our client is seeking an Accounting Manager to provide direct supervision and leadership to the accounting team, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial transactions, reporting, and compliance. This role oversees daily accounting operations, supports month-end close activities, maintains internal controls, and drives process improvements. The Accounting Manager serves as a key resource for internal and external stakeholders while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment and supporting operational efficiency across the department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise, mentor, and manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Billing teams and processes, ensuring efficient workflows and accurate execution.

Enforce accounting policies and procedures; establish, document, and update processes as needed.

Oversee order and account deposits, including coordination and approval of electronic and check-based payments.

Manage sales tax matters, including credits, returns, refunds, and account adjustments.

Serve as a resource for team members by answering questions, providing guidance, training, and problem-solving support.

Monitor the accounting team’s shared inbox, assign inquiries, and ensure timely resolution of requests from internal teams and customers.

Review and approve accounts payable documentation in accordance with established internal controls.

Oversee the preparation, review, and distribution of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly management reports.

Supervise accounts receivable payment posting, billing, invoicing, and provide backup support for key accounting functions.

Ensure accurate and timely responses to customer requests, statements, vendor forms, and specialized reporting needs.

Coordinate monthly customer statements, invoice reminders, and account reconciliations.

Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to develop a collaborative, high-performing accounting team.

Serve as backup for critical accounting functions, including AP, AR, billing, and reporting, to ensure continuity of operations.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required.

Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA or equivalent) strongly preferred.

Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including reconciliations, financial reporting, and analysis.

At least 2+ years of direct supervisory or management experience within an accounting team.

Demonstrated experience working with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system required.

Experience with document management systems and business intelligence or analytics tools preferred.

Advanced proficiency with office productivity software, including spreadsheets, word processing, and email.

Experience implementing or maintaining internal controls and working knowledge of GAAP.

Prior experience in a multi-entity or multi-location environment is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong proficiency with ERP systems and accounting software.

Advanced spreadsheet skills, including the ability to create and analyze complex financial reports.
