Job Title: Legal Assistant - Insurance Defense Litigation

Location: Onsite - Tampa, Florida

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support attorneys in a fast-paced insurance defense litigation practice. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills, excellent judgment, and a minimum of four (4) years of litigation experience on the insurance defense side. The position is onsite in Tampa and requires the ability to manage multiple priorities while providing high-quality administrative and legal support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive litigation support to attorneys practicing insurance defense
  • Prepare and submit new business intake forms and conduct conflict checks in accordance with firm policies
  • Manage and maintain attorney calendars, including court dates, deadlines, and internal meetings
  • Schedule and coordinate travel arrangements, appointments, depositions, mediations, and meetings
  • Assist with document management, filing, and organization of electronic and physical case files
  • Prepare, review, and submit expense reports in a timely and accurate manner
  • Coordinate and track deadlines to ensure compliance with court rules and procedural requirements
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and internal staff
  • Utilize document management systems, with iManage proficiency strongly preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense
  • Prior experience handling new matter intake and conflicts checks
  • Strong experience with calendar management and scheduling for multiple attorneys
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an onsite office environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with iManage or similar document management systems
  • Experience supporting busy litigation practices with high volumes of matters
