Ascendo Resources is currently seeking a Billing Coordinator for a full-time, hybrid role.

Our client is a prominent, large-scale New York law firm with nearly 600 employees. We are seeking a Billing Coordinator to join its billing team in Lower Manhattan. This position reports to the Billing Supervisor and is responsible for all aspects of client billing — from proforma generation through final payment. The ideal candidate brings sharp analytical skills, a client-service mindset, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.

What you'll do

  • Review matter set-up to ensure proper coding, rate compliance, task codes, and e-billing adherence; proactively follow up with timekeepers, assistants, e-billing vendors, and clients
  • Provide budgets, billing forecasts, and ad hoc reports to clients and management
  • Process client bills end-to-end: proforma generation, narrative edits, task codes, and ledger file creation
  • Proactively manage collections by following up on past-due invoices with attorneys, clients, and the Director of Collections
  • Submit e-bills, resolve rejections and adjustments, and manage invoices through to payment via e-hub and various e-billing platforms
  • Serve as the primary billing contact for assigned attorneys, clients, and management

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree required — Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred
  • 2+ years of legal billing experience
  • Experience with Elite / Aderant strongly preferred; 3E experience a plus
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and multitask
  • Flexibility for overtime when needed
