AR / Collections Specialist

Location: Allentown, PA 18109 (4 days onsite / 1 remote)

Schedule: Mon–Fri, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (flexible)

Pay Rate: $30/hr - $35/hr

Salary: $65K - $75k

Overview:

Confidential, fast-growing PE-backed facilities services company is seeking an AR / Collections Specialist to own collections activity and support AR operations as the team continues to scale. The company is expanding through acquisitions and building out its finance function and processes.

Role:

This individual will manage AR balances and drive collections through consistent customer outreach, aging review, dispute resolution, and payment follow-up. Strong ownership and follow-through are key in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage AR accounts and follow up on past-due invoices (phone/email)
  • Monitor aging reports and prioritize collections activity
  • Handle disputes, payment commitments, and account updates
  • Post payments and assist with reconciliations
  • Partner with internal teams to resolve billing issues
  • Maintain accurate documentation and AR notes
  • Support AR reporting and escalation of high-risk accounts


Requirements:

  • 3+ years AR / Collections experience
  • Strong collections follow-up and customer communication skills
  • Experience with aging reports, reconciliations, and payment posting
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning accounts end-to-end
  • Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables / VLOOKUP preferred)
  • Comfortable working onsite 4 days per week

Preferred

  • Service, construction, or field-service industry experience
  • Experience handling disputes and customer escalations
  • ERP experience (QuickBooks or similar; SAP exposure a plus)
