Compensation: $40–$45/hour
Duration: 4+ months, with potential for permanent hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM | 35-hour work week
Work Arrangement: Onsite

About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established organization in the affordable housing/property management industry, is seeking a Leasing / Administrative Assistant to support the lease-up of a large affordable housing property in Brooklyn.

This is a great opportunity for someone with affordable housing, leasing, and administrative experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The role will be heavily focused on administrative support while assisting with leasing and lease-up activities.

Key Qualifications

  • Affordable housing and/or lease-up experience
  • Experience with LIHTC recertifications and HCR requirements
  • Strong administrative and leasing support experience
  • Experience tracking applications, approvals, lease signings, and leasing activity
  • Ability to calculate tenant income and rent percentages
  • Yardi experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
  • Rent-stabilized housing experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support the leasing and lease-up process for approximately 300 affordable housing units
  • Track applications, approvals, lease signings, and overall leasing activity
  • Assist with LIHTC recertifications and HCR-related requirements
  • Prepare and organize applicant qualification packets and supporting documentation
  • Assist with CityFHEPS and landlord packages
  • Calculate tenant income and rent percentages to help determine eligibility
  • Maintain accurate tracking of project-based and volume-based leasing activity
  • Follow up with applicants and tenants regarding outstanding documentation and lease-signing requirements
  • Provide general administrative support to the property management and leasing team
  • Work closely with the Property Manager, Superintendent, and maintenance staff onsite
  • Utilize Yardi and other leasing/property management platforms to maintain accurate records

About the Property

  • Approximately 300 affordable housing apartments
  • Active lease-up, with approximately 100 units currently signed
  • Property includes commercial space and a parking lot
  • Site-based position supporting the property management and leasing team
  • Third-party provider assists with assembling applicant qualification packets

Team

You will work alongside a General Manager, Property Manager, Superintendent, and Maintenance Staff.

Interview Process

  1. Video interview with the General Manager and Property Manager
  2. Onsite meeting with the Senior Associate
