Plant Manager – Food Manufacturing

We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead day-to-day operations within a fast-paced food manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for driving production performance, safety, quality, staffing, and operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with all applicable food safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all plant operations, including production, staffing, scheduling, quality, safety, and overall facility performance.

• Ensure production goals are achieved while maintaining product quality and food safety standards.

• Maintain compliance with GMP, HACCP, FDA/USDA, sanitation, and company quality requirements.

• Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors and plant employees.

• Drive accountability, productivity, employee engagement, and a strong safety culture.

• Monitor labor, production output, waste, downtime, and operating costs.

• Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, control expenses, and maximize plant output.

• Partner with quality, maintenance, warehouse, and other departments to support smooth plant operations.

• Address operational issues quickly and implement corrective actions as needed.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives across production and plant processes.

Qualifications

• Previous plant management, production management, or manufacturing leadership experience required.

• Food manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

• Working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, FDA/USDA, food safety, and sanitation requirements.

• Proven experience leading production teams and supervisors.

• Strong understanding of production metrics, labor management, waste reduction, downtime, and cost control.

• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.
