We are seeking a motivated attorney with at least 2 years of insurance defense experience to join our client's growing law firm in Fort Lauderdale. This position offers an excellent opportunity to advance your career with a firm that values collaboration, mentorship, and professional development.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will have experience in Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and/or First Party Property insurance defense. You will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, handling client relationships, and representing clients in all phases of litigation. This is a full-time, onsite position in our client's Fort Lauderdale office.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Depositions: Take and defend depositions of witnesses, experts, and parties involved in litigation.
  • Attend Hearings: Represent clients in court hearings, motions, and other legal proceedings as needed.
  • Client Interaction: Manage and respond to client requests, provide status updates, and handle demands in a professional and timely manner.
  • Case Management: Oversee a docket of cases in accordance with office policies and deadlines, ensuring that each case is moving forward efficiently.
  • Communication with Insurance Companies: Regularly communicate with insurance companies regarding the status of claims, demands, and offers to negotiate and resolve matters.
  • Claim Evaluation: Utilize your experience to evaluate claims, assess their merit, and develop defense strategies.
  • Legal Writing: Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with senior attorneys, paralegals, and staff to ensure that cases are handled effectively and that client needs are met.

Qualifications:

  • Florida Bar admission is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance defense, specifically with Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and/or First Party Property insurance defense.
  • Strong understanding of insurance law and claims evaluation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
