We are seeking an experienced Archivist to manage and preserve both physical and digital collections, ensuring accessibility and long-term preservation. This role combines hands-on archival work with supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, preserve, organize, and describe archival materials, including both physical and digital records.
- Develop and implement archival policies, procedures and forms.
- Rehouse collections, apply basic preservation techniques, and optimize storage and retrieval systems for print, photographic, and media materials.
- Provide reference services, assist with research requests, and act as a resource for internal teams.
- Supervise and mentor staff, interns, and volunteers; collaborate with other departments and external organizations as needed.
Qualifications:
- Master's in Archival Studies, Library/Information Science, History, or related field.
- 3+ years of archival management experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Certification as an Archivist or relevant archival credentials.
- Experience with EAD, DACS, and tools such as ArchivesSpace, Archivists' Tookskit, or Preservica.
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
- Active practicing member of the Roman Catholic faith with deep understanding of Catholic teachings and traditions.
