About the Role:

The Property Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for a real estate portfolio. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, specifically within the real estate industry. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

• Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts.
• Process accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare and file tax returns.
• Maintain fixed asset records.
• Analyze rental income and expenses.
• Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
• Ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience in the real estate industry preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, QuickBooks).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
