Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant (CPA Track) will support the accounting team in managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This role is ideal for candidates pursuing CPA certification and seeking to develop their accounting skills in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- General Ledger Management: Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial transactions. Review and post journal entries.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Expense Tracking: Review and process expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and proper documentation.
- Month-End and Year-End Close: Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing and reviewing account reconciliations and financial statements.
- Audit Preparation: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and company policies. Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations.
- Tax Support: Assist with tax filings and prepare supporting documentation for tax returns and related reports.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and recommend changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation for future reference and compliance purposes.
- CPA Exam Preparation: Actively work towards obtaining CPA certification by studying for and passing the CPA exams.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certification: Actively pursuing CPA certification or eligible to take the CPA exam.
- Experience: Previous internship or relevant experience in accounting is preferred but not required.
