Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our clients finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and a passion for the food industry. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and supporting overall financial health of the company.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage AP and AR processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing variance analysis and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements, preparing for audits and assisting with audit processes.
  • Oversee inventory accounting, including tracking and reconciling inventory levels, costs, and variances.
  • Monitor and analyze expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, identify trends, and provide insights to management.
  • Work closely with other departments, providing financial insights and support for various projects and initiatives.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the food industry or a related sector.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
