A leading accounting firm is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Tax Accountant to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment with a flexible hybrid work schedule. There is the option to work in either Manhattan, Long Island, or Florida.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information
- Prepare sales tax, federal, and state income tax returns for individuals and corporations
- Perform complex tax research and prepare research memoranda, written correspondence, and guidance documents for submission to the IRS or other tax authorities
- Prepare tax planning and estimates, becoming involved in planning for more complex clients
- Analyze IRS notices and draft responses
- Contribute to the client service team by producing quality work with quick turnaround and attentive service
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with all partners and staff members
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 5+ years of experience in accounting
- Experience working in a CPA firm
- Proficiency with forms 1040, 1120, 1120S, and 1065, and schedules A-E
- Experience with corporate tax, payroll tax, sales tax, personal tax, K-1s, business, C-Corp, and S-Corp
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of Excel, QuickBooks, and Lacerte
- Ability to sign off on documents with no issues
