Job Summary/Objective
The Recruiter plays a vital role in our organization by collaborating with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop effective recruiting strategies. Utilizing both traditional and non-traditional resources, the Recruiter sources both active and passive candidates through various channels, including social media, job boards, networking, and job fairs. This individual leads the full recruitment cycle, from identifying staffing gaps to pre-employment screening and orientation scheduling. The ideal candidate will share our organization's mission and demonstrate a genuine passion for providing resources and services to families experiencing homelessness in Mercer County.

Essential Job Functions
• Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies to fill open positions within specified timeframes.
• Source passive and active candidates, screen resumes, conduct pre-screening interviews, and assign assessments to provide quality candidates to Directors, Managers, and Supervisors.
• Organize and participate in job fairs, campus events, and networking opportunities to expand recruitment efforts.
• Coordinate a structured interview process, collecting feedback on candidates from relevant stakeholders.
• Obtain approval from senior team members on hiring manager requisitions.
• Maintain regular communication with hiring managers regarding vacancy statuses.
• Update and prioritize approved requests and recruiting tracker in real time.
• Collaborate with hiring managers to understand vacancy requirements, duties, and qualifications.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for hiring managers, anticipating staffing needs and maintaining a candidate pool.
• Follow up as necessary, including reference checks, verifying vaccination and degree documentation, extending offer letters, and providing rejection feedback.
• Schedule new hires for upcoming orientation sessions.
• Work closely with the HR Generalist to ensure successful onboarding.
• Identify potential grant opportunities from the Department of Labor (DOL) to support unique candidate statuses.
• Ensure compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and related employment laws and regulations.
• Assume HR Generalist responsibilities when needed.

Required Experience and Education
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 5+ of experience in recruitment or human resources.

Preferred Experience and Education
• Experience working with non-profit organizations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in Spanish being a plus.
• Thorough understanding of EEO, ADA, and related employment laws and guidelines.
