Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Purchasing Manager to oversee all procurement activities for our construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating contracts, maintaining vendor relationships, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing aligned with project timelines and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies that support project budgets and schedules.

  • Source, evaluate, and select suppliers and subcontractors based on quality, cost, delivery, and reliability.

  • Negotiate terms and pricing with vendors, ensuring the best value without compromising quality.

  • Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and site supervisors to forecast demand and ensure timely material delivery.

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, lead times, and material usage to minimize waste and cost overruns.

  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, pricing agreements, and delivery schedules.

  • Evaluate supplier performance and maintain positive long-term vendor relationships.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations related to procurement and subcontracting.

  • Collaborate with accounting and finance teams for invoice approvals and budget tracking.

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement process improvements.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.

  • 5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in the construction industry.

  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and supply chain logistics.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency with procurement software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, SAP, or similar).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with LEED, green building materials, or sustainable procurement practices.

  • Certification in procurement (e.g., CPM, CPSM, or PMP).

  • Experience with large-scale residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
