Our esteemed client in Old Bridge, New Jersey is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Assistant with a strong emphasis on Accounts Receivable to join there tean, The position will primarily be responsible for managing billing processes, customer invoicing, and collections related to goods and services provided to clients. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a high level of professionalism and discretion.

  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial information

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments and transactions
  • Generate accurate invoices per company practices and submit to customers promptly
  • Perform daily cash management activities including deposits, posting entries, and bank reconciliations
  • Draft standard collection correspondence and follow up on past-due accounts
  • Review delinquent accounts and initiate appropriate collection actions
  • Compile and present reports on the status of accounts receivable as needed
  • Investigate and resolve customer discrepancies and overdue balances in coordination with colleagues and the CFO
  • Assist in preparing monthly billing statements based on the general ledger
  • Maintain accurate filing systems for accounts receivable records
  • Update and relay account changes to the appropriate internal departments
  • Support other accounting and administrative functions as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, or a minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general MS Office applications
  • Effective time management and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to collaborate across departments
