A mid-sized construction company in New York City is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to oversee the full scope of union payroll operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer full-cycle union payroll for 60+ employees
• Process and reconcile union remittances, certified payrolls, and prevailing wage reports
• Manage workers' compensation claims, payroll audits, and compliance reporting (OSHA, EEOC, OCIP/CCIP)
• Ensure compliance with NYS unemployment and payroll tax regulations
• Handle job costing, payroll reconciliations, and identify/correct discrepancies within Sage 300
• Generate and format Excel reports (tables, payroll packages, data analysis)
• Support payroll system transition (experience with ADP Workforce Now is a plus)
• Assist with payroll audits, garnishments, benefit remittances, and collaborate with leadership on payroll compliance

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in construction bookkeeping
• Hands-on experience with Sage 300 or Timberline
• Exceptional attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work independently
