Position Summary:
The Maintenance Facility Manager (Refrigeration Equipment) is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and repair of all refrigeration systems and facility equipment. This role ensures optimal performance, safety, and efficiency of refrigeration units, HVAC systems, and related mechanical infrastructure. The manager will supervise maintenance personnel, coordinate preventive maintenance programs, and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and oversee maintenance operations for all refrigeration and facility systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control systems.

Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.

Supervise, train, and evaluate maintenance technicians, contractors, and support staff.

Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control issues in refrigeration and HVAC systems.

Monitor energy consumption and recommend efficiency improvements or system upgrades.

Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other safety and environmental regulations related to refrigeration and facility maintenance.

Manage inventory of tools, parts, and supplies to support maintenance operations.

Coordinate maintenance and repair activities with production or operations teams to minimize workflow disruptions.

Oversee equipment installation, commissioning, and modifications as needed.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment logs, and compliance documentation.

Develop and manage maintenance budgets, cost controls, and vendor contracts.

Respond to emergency breakdowns and support after-hours maintenance requirements as needed.
Qualifications:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Facilities Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in facility or maintenance management, with strong knowledge of commercial/industrial refrigeration systems.

EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification required.

Strong knowledge of ammonia, CO₂, or Freon-based refrigeration systems (depending on facility type).

Proven experience managing maintenance staff and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.

Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

Proficiency with maintenance management software (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
