Job Title: Safety Manager Reports To: EVP of Risk Management & Regulatory FLSA Status: Salary, Exempt
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Safety Manager to lead safety and health programs across our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining a culture of safety that protects employees, products, and the community. The Safety Manager will partner with operations, engineering, quality, HR, and regulatory teams to drive continuous improvement in safety performance and compliance.
Roles & Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy

Champion workplace safety, embedding safety values into daily operations and long-term strategic planning.

Serve as a cross-functional leader, aligning safety priorities with production, maintenance, and supply chain goals.

Lead safety committees and engage employees at all levels to promote ownership of safe work practices.
Program Development & Compliance

Develop, implement, and maintain safety management systems for manufacturing operations.

Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, and other relevant regulations, as well as company standards.

Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Manage risk assessments, process safety reviews, and hazard identification for new and existing operations.
Training & Culture

Design and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and leadership teams.

Foster a proactive safety culture by promoting near-miss reporting, hazard recognition, and employee-driven initiatives.

Coach supervisors and managers on embedding safety leadership into daily decision-making.
Continuous Improvement & Reporting

Establish and monitor safety KPIs, ensuring clear communication of progress to leadership and frontline teams.

Lead cross-functional projects to reduce risk, improve ergonomics, and implement engineering controls.

Stay current on industry best practices, emerging regulations, and technological innovations in safety management.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, business administration, or a related field.

5+ years of progressive safety leadership experience in manufacturing or related industries.

Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and industry safety standards.

Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and influencing without direct authority.

Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Professional safety certification preferred (CSP, ASP, CIH, CHMM).
