Job Description:

A leading provider of construction solutions is seeking a Cash Applications Specialist to ensure the accurate and timely application of customer payments to open invoices. Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Manager, this role supports the integrity of accounts receivable records and cash flow management through diligent reconciliation, problem-solving, and collaboration across internal teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply daily customer payments (ACH, wire, checks, credit cards) to open invoices in the ERP system.
  • Reconcile remittance advice and ensure payments are posted to correct accounts and invoices.
  • Research and resolve unapplied cash, short pays, and payment discrepancies.
  • Partner with Collections and Billing teams to validate payments and ensure accurate invoicing.
  • Prepare daily cash posting reports and maintain organized documentation for audit purposes.
  • Support month-end close by reconciling unapplied cash and preparing related reports.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance cash application accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in cash applications or accounts receivable, ideally in a service-based environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage high transaction volumes and resolve issues proactively.
