Staff Accountant (Doral)

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to support our accounting operations with a focus on general accounting and real estate-related transactions. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting skills, experience with month-end close, and exposure to real estate accounting processes such as CAM reconciliations, lease accounting, and property-level reporting. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.


Key Responsibilities

General Accounting

  • Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.

  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and reporting.

 

Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance internal controls.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and property management.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience.

  • Real estate accounting experience strongly preferred (commercial, residential, or mixed-use).

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close requirements.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (Yardi, MRI, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar a plus).

  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • CPA or CPA-track preferred but not required.
