Temp Inventory Control Specialist (Paternity Leave Coverage)

Location: New York, NY 10036

Schedule: Fully onsite, Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm

Duration: ~2 months (Target start: December 1st)

Pay Rate: $30/hr

Reports To: Inventory Controller

Overview

A luxury retail company is seeking a Temporary Inventory Control Specialist to support inventory operations during a paternity leave. This role ensures accurate inventory across retail stores, warehouse locations, consignment partners, and showrooms. Stealth Inventory System (AS400) experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support inventory reporting, month-end close, and quarterly consolidation.
  • Conduct and review physical counts and warehouse cycle counts; upload results into STEALTH/START.
  • Perform 3-way match of invoices to receipts, including intercompany and third-party vendors.
  • Run inventory movement reports and resolve missing notes or shipment discrepancies.
  • Upload manual inventory movements/adjustments and reconcile consignment inventory.
  • Track merchandise flow through warehouse operations and ensure accurate valuation.
  • Assist with quarterly inventory devaluation and audit preparation.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Stealth Inventory System (AS400) experience - Required
  • Strong inventory control or inventory management background
  • Advanced Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, formulas, uploads)
  • Understanding of inventory processes, warehouse workflows, and 3-way matching
  • Ability to support month-end inventory close and reporting
  • General knowledge of retail POS and supply chain processes
