HR Generalist – Financial Services
Location: 150 E 45th Street, New York, NY 10017
Schedule: 5 days onsite
Compensation: Up to $85K
Experience: 4+ years required; Paycom experience preferred
Overview:
A leading financial services organization is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to oversee daily HR operations, support employees and managers, maintain compliance, and uphold company policies and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle onboarding, including offer letters, background checks, and new hire documentation.
- Lead new hire orientation and support employment-related inquiries.
- Administer employee benefits, maintain accurate enrollment data, review invoices, and support open enrollment.
- Oversee offboarding processes including termination communication and benefits updates.
- Maintain HR processes, employee personnel files, and comprehensive HR documentation.
- Prepare HR reports for management as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Stay current on HR trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
- Perform additional HR duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Strong verbal/written communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time-management abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with HRIS systems; Paycom highly preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 4+ years of HR experience required.
- SHRM-CP certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work at a desk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
- Ability to move throughout multiple departments/office locations as needed.
