Mechanical Claims Adjuster

Full Time | Onsite | Jacksonville FL | $25–27/hr.

A national automotive warranty and insurance provider is seeking a Mechanical Claims Adjuster to join its onsite Claims Administration team. This role is ideal for experienced automotive technicians who want to transition out of the shop environment while still applying their repair knowledge in a professional office setting. You will assess mechanical failures, investigate claim details, and collaborate with customers, inspectors, and repair facilities to determine coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Field inbound calls related to mechanical warranty claims
• Review customer concerns, diagnostics, images, and repair recommendations to determine cause of failure
• Verify that repairs and labor costs align with industry standards and contract guidelines
• Analyze repair information to confirm coverage eligibility
• Communicate with customers, inspectors, dealers, and repair facilities to gather details and complete investigations
• Negotiate and authorize repairs within established authority limits
• Document findings in claims systems and process claims according to company policy
• Contribute to the team through additional tasks, projects, and quality initiatives as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of hands-on automotive repair and diagnostic experience
• High school diploma required; some college or equivalent experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and repair documentation
• Intermediate computer proficiency with Windows-based programs
• Strong communication skills and professional phone etiquette
• Ability to solve practical problems in fast-paced, variable environments
• Previous ASE certification preferred
• Claims processing experience is a plus but not required
• Spanish bilingual skills are beneficial

Schedule & Work Environment

• Onsite in Jacksonville FL
• Department hours: 6am–7pm CST (various shift options); new hires typically begin on a 10am–7pm schedule
• No weekends
• Opportunity to move to earlier shifts as proficiency grows

Compensation & Benefits

• $25–27 per hour, depending on experience
• Full-time, non-exempt role
