Mechanical Claims Adjuster

Full Time | Onsite | Richardson TX | $27–31/hr.

A national automotive service contract and warranty provider is seeking a Vehicle Service Contract (VSC) Specialist/Mechanical Claims Adjuster to join its onsite Claims Assistance Center. This position is well suited for individuals with dealership service department experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to navigate multiple systems while reviewing contract coverage and negotiating repair decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle inbound calls from dealers, customers, and repair facilities regarding vehicle service contracts
• Review diagnostics, repair estimates, and contract terms to determine coverage
• Evaluate labor times, parts pricing, and inspection reports
• Authorize or deny repairs within authority limits; escalate when appropriate
• Negotiate with repair shops to ensure accurate, cost-effective estimates
• Communicate professionally with all stakeholders throughout the claim lifecycle
• Work across multiple claims management platforms to document and resolve cases
• Support quality audits, process improvements, and training initiatives
• Assist with onboarding new team members and provide feedback on operational trends

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 2–4+ years of automotive claims adjudication experience preferred but automotive technical background is highly welcomed
• Strongly preferred: background as a service advisor, service writer, technician, warranty administrator, or similar dealership experience
• Hands-on technician or mechanical knowledge is a significant advantage
• Familiarity with diagnostics, repair procedures, and industry labor/parts standards
• Experience in TPA environments, insurance adjusting, fleet maintenance coordination, or parts management is beneficial
• Proficient in navigating multiple systems simultaneously
• ASE or factory training certifications are a plus
• Prior high-volume claims or call center experience is valuable

Schedule & Work Environment

• Onsite in Richardson TX
• Department operates 8am–8pm CST
• No weekends
• Flexible scheduling available for individual needs (e.g., childcare considerations)

Compensation & Benefits

• $27–31 per hour, depending on experience
• Full-time, non-exempt role
