Our esteemed client in Bergen County, New Jersey is seeking a highly organized, detail-driven Accounting Manager/Bookkeeper to support the CFO and oversee financial operations across multiple business entities. This is a hands-on, onsite role ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in a small, collaborative, and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, day-to-day financial and operational support to the CFO, including assistance with special projects
  • Manage full-cycle accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Profit & Loss statements, balance sheets, journal entries, and financial statement reviews
  • Perform financial modeling and assist with budgeting and forecasting
  • Handle general administrative responsibilities such as mail processing, data entry, filing, and digital record organization
  • Oversee bookkeeping functions for the affiliated clothing business
  • Maintain accurate records and entity tracking within QuickBooks for multiple business lines
  • Ensure proper structure and upkeep of the company’s digital filing and organizational systems
  • Support ongoing special projects, process improvements, and operational initiatives
  • Leverage AI tools to improve workflow efficiency and reporting accuracy

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (advanced proficiency strongly preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; Spanish fluency is a plus
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a professional, adaptable, and positive demeanor
  • Strongly preferred: experience in Real Estate Development or Land Development accounting
  • Comfortable adapting to new technologies, including AI-based tools
  • Ability to work independently within a small team (approx. 15 full-time employees)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across teams and departments
