Compensation: $150,000 base salary + 20,000 stock grants (vesting over 4 years)

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Manager / Director of Purchasing to lead and optimize purchasing strategy across its portfolio of natural and organic grocery brands. This role will play a critical part in supplier management, distributor relationships, cost optimization, and supporting continued growth across retail and e-commerce channels.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead purchasing strategy for multiple natural and organic grocery brands across 10 plus locations
• Manage and strengthen relationships with major distributors
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to maximize margin and supply reliability
• Oversee vendor selection, assortment planning, and purchasing processes
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, merchandising, finance, and leadership teams
• Ensure scalability of purchasing systems and processes as the business continues to grow

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or Director within a major grocery or natural/organic retail organization
• Hands-on experience working with large distributors
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and strategic planning skills
• Ability to operate effectively in a remote environment while supporting a multi-location retail footprint
