Overview

A large and growing real estate organization in Coral Gables is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and support monthly close, financial reporting, and internal controls. This role will manage key accounting processes, partner with leadership across departments, and ensure timely and accurate financial results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly close process, ensuring deadlines are met and reporting is accurate

  • Oversee general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations

  • Review and approve balance sheet and income statement reconciliations

  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and variance explanations

  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities in partnership with Finance leadership

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and accounting best practices

  • Coordinate with external auditors and support audit requests and documentation

  • Assist with cash management, bank reconciliations, and treasury-related activity

  • Collaborate with property management and operations teams on billing, expenses, and reporting

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and stronger controls

  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff (as applicable)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

  • Prior experience as an Accounting Manager / Senior Accountant in a mid-to-large organization

  • Real estate industry experience preferred (property management, development, investment, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes

  • Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or CPA-track is a plus

  • Experience with real estate accounting concepts such as CAM reconciliations, tenant billing, fixed assets, and multi-entity structures

  • Exposure to reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) a plus
