Ascendo Resources is partnering with a wonderful law firm client that is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to provide comprehensive legal and administrative support to attorneys handling complex commercial litigation, creditor bankruptcy matters, and collection cases. This position is full-time and onsite located in Raleigh, NC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, affidavits, orders, discovery responses, and other litigation documents
  • Proofread and edit legal documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with court rules
  • Maintain and manage legal calendars, monitoring court dates, hearings, filing deadlines, and case milestones
  • Assist attorneys with discovery, including organizing, reviewing, and coordinating documents, evidence, and responses
  • Conduct factual and procedural legal research as needed
  • Manage and organize case files, both electronic and physical, throughout the litigation lifecycle
  • Communicate with clients, court personnel, local counsel, trustees, and opposing counsel
  • Utilize legal technology and internal systems to support case management and workflow efficiency
  • Make independent recommendations and exercise sound judgment under attorney supervision
  • Perform additional litigation and administrative duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation paralegal experience
  • Demonstrated experience with commercial litigation, creditor bankruptcy, and collection matters
  • Strong understanding of court procedures, litigation timelines, and discovery processes
  • Excellent drafting, proofreading, and document management skills
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a legal team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and multitask efficiently
  • Typing speed of 50+ words per minute
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved or equivalent program
  • Prior experience supporting attorneys in complex or high-volume litigation matters

  • Comfortable working with document management systems and legal databases
  • Professional, client-service-oriented demeanor
