Provider Enrollment Representative (PER)

Position Summary

The Provider Enrollment Representative (PER) is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of Medicare Part A and/or Part B provider records. This role reviews provider enrollment applications to ensure compliance with CMS regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures. The position requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to manage documentation in a production-driven environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities (Approximately 90%)

  • Process provider enrollment applications for Medicare Part A and/or Part B

  • Obtain additional or missing information via telephone or written correspondence

  • Research and validate application data to ensure completeness and accuracy

  • Determine compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements

  • Review supporting documentation and make final enrollment determinations or recommendations

  • Create and update enrollment records in applicable systems

  • Establish Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) for Medicare provider payments

  • Research and respond to provider enrollment inquiries, both application-specific and general

Additional Responsibilities (Approximately 10%)

  • Participate in provider enrollment meetings, company-sponsored meetings, and required training

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Minimum of one year of experience in customer service and/or a role requiring routine computer and Microsoft Office usage

  • Proficiency in Windows-based environments, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated reading comprehension and research abilities

  • Proven problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior provider enrollment experience

  • Experience working in a production-based environment with quality performance standards


Background Investigation & Identity Verification

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment requirements, including:

  • Background investigation

  • Drug screening

  • Identity proofing

This role also requires additional federal screening, including fingerprinting and background investigations, to obtain and maintain access to CMS systems. Continued employment is dependent on meeting all federal suitability requirements.

Acceptable Identity Documentation Includes:

  • REAL ID-compliant driver’s license

  • U.S. Passport or U.S. Passport Card

  • Foreign Passport

  • U.S. Permanent Residency documentation
    (Employment Authorization Documents alone are not sufficient.)


Training & Schedule Expectations

  • Paid training provided (typically 10–12 weeks)

  • Training schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. EST

  • Full attendance is required during training and the probationary period

Training Environment Requirements:

  • Training is conducted remotely in a virtual setting

  • Camera must remain on throughout the training day

  • Clear video visibility from shoulders up with adequate lighting

  • Minimal background noise and distractions

  • Active participation is expected throughout the training period
