Position Summary:
The Billing Specialist is responsible for managing the end to end billing process, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, and supporting overall revenue cycle operations. This role works closely with internal departments and external clients to resolve discrepancies, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with company policies and financial procedures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and process customer invoices in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Validate billing data, including rates, contracts, purchase orders, and supporting documentation.

  • Ensure proper coding and allocation of revenue in accordance with accounting guidelines.

  • Reconcile billing reports and investigate discrepancies or variances.

  • Monitor aging reports and collaborate with Accounts Receivable to support collections efforts.

  • Respond to internal and external billing inquiries and provide prompt resolution.

  • Maintain organized billing records and documentation for audit purposes.

  • Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and revenue reporting.

  • Generate billing summaries, financial reports, and analysis for management review.

  • Partner with operations, sales, and finance teams to ensure billing accuracy and process improvement.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline billing workflows and enhance efficiency.


Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or related accounting functions.

  • Strong understanding of invoicing procedures and revenue cycle processes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).

  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
