Ascendo Resources is working with a well-capitalized, growing wholesale distribution company to hire a Senior Bookkeeper to oversee day-to-day accounting operations.

 

While the company is in a growth phase, ownership brings 15+ years of industry experience and maintains long-standing relationships across the U.S. market.

 

This role is ideal for a seasoned bookkeeping professional who has supported $50M+ revenue businesses, is comfortable owning the accounting function day-to-day, and enjoys mentoring junior staff while partnering closely with senior leadership.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee full-charge bookkeeping for a wholesale distribution business generating $50M+ in annual revenue
  • Handle and review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including high-volume invoicing, collections, and vendor payments
  • Record, review, and approve daily financial transactions and general ledger activity
  • Oversee and process payroll for approximately 10 employees using ADP
  • Perform and review bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support month-end close, financial reporting, and variance analysis
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure accurate, timely financial data
  • Partner directly with the CFO, serving as the primary point of contact for day-to-day accounting matters
  • Act as a liaison with external accountants and tax advisors
  • Assist with process improvements as transaction volume and complexity increase

 

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive experience using QuickBooks
  • Full-charge bookkeeping experience supporting wholesale businesses
  • Strong knowledge of AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger accounting
  • Hands-on experience with ADP payroll
  • Experience managing high transaction volumes and supervising junior staff
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Comfortable working 100% on-site in Midtown Manhattan

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in wholesale distribution, consumer products, or other product-driven businesses
  • Experience supporting founder-led or closely held organizations
  • Exposure to scaling environments with evolving systems and processes

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • $90,000 – $105,000+ base salary, based on experience
