Senior Accountant
Location: Coral Gables Department: Accounting / Finance Reports To: Accounting Manager / Controller
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant with Big 4 public accounting experience to join our growing finance team. This role will be responsible for supporting financial reporting, complex accounting analysis, and the month-end close process while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal control standards.
The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting knowledge, experience working in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to partner cross-functionally with finance, operations, and executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Close

Lead key components of the month-end and year-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.

Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

Perform variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.
Technical Accounting

Research and document accounting positions related to GAAP, revenue recognition (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), and other complex accounting matters.

Prepare technical accounting memos and assist with implementation of new accounting standards.

Support complex transactions including acquisitions, restructurings, and new business initiatives.
Internal Controls & Compliance

Assist with SOX compliance, including documentation, testing, and remediation of internal controls.

Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.

Support external and internal audit requests and coordinate with auditors.
Process Improvement & Systems

Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve reporting efficiency.

Assist with ERP implementations, system enhancements, and automation initiatives.

Support development of standardized financial reporting tools and dashboards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with FP&A, tax, treasury, and operational teams to support financial reporting and analysis.

Provide guidance on accounting treatment for operational initiatives and contracts.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s in Accounting preferred).

CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred.

3–6 years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) or a mix of public accounting and industry experience.

Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.

Experience with audit processes, technical accounting research, and internal controls.
Technical Skills

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Workday.

Familiarity with data analytics and financial reporting tools is a plus.
