Senior Accountant

Reports To: Accounting Manager / Controller

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant with Big 4 public accounting experience to join our growing finance team. This role will be responsible for supporting financial reporting, complex accounting analysis, and the month-end close process while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal control standards.

The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting knowledge, experience working in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to partner cross-functionally with finance, operations, and executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Close

• Lead key components of the month-end and year-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.

• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

• Perform variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.

Technical Accounting

• Research and document accounting positions related to GAAP, revenue recognition (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), and other complex accounting matters.

• Prepare technical accounting memos and assist with implementation of new accounting standards.

• Support complex transactions including acquisitions, restructurings, and new business initiatives.

Internal Controls & Compliance

• Assist with SOX compliance, including documentation, testing, and remediation of internal controls.

• Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.

• Support external and internal audit requests and coordinate with auditors.

Process Improvement & Systems

• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve reporting efficiency.

• Assist with ERP implementations, system enhancements, and automation initiatives.

• Support development of standardized financial reporting tools and dashboards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with FP&A, tax, treasury, and operational teams to support financial reporting and analysis.

• Provide guidance on accounting treatment for operational initiatives and contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s in Accounting preferred).

• CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred.

• 3–6 years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) or a mix of public accounting and industry experience.

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.

• Experience with audit processes, technical accounting research, and internal controls.

Technical Skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Workday.

• Familiarity with data analytics and financial reporting tools is a plus.
