Ascendo Resources is currently seeking a Human Resources Coordinator for a full-time, on-site role. Salary range is up to $55,000 a year.

 

Our client is a well-established, multi-state transportation services organization.

 

We are seeking a Recruiter to support high-volume recruiting and onboarding operations. This organization operates across school transportation, transit, and charter services, with a strong focus on safety, service, and operational excellence.

 

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, people-facing environment and enjoys managing the full candidate lifecycle—from initial inquiry through onboarding.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for candidates (walk-ins, calls, and online inquiries)
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews, including candidate follow-ups and confirmations
  • Manage the end-to-end onboarding process, ensuring all pre-employment requirements are completed
  • Process and track background checks, fingerprinting, MVRs, and drug screenings
  • Maintain accurate tracking logs and spreadsheets (Excel) for applicant status and compliance
  • Review screening results and collaborate with internal teams on hiring decisions
  • Prepare and submit new hire documentation to training and operations teams
  • Ensure proper filing, scanning, and organization of employee records
  • Support local recruiting efforts (job fairs, community outreach, signage, etc.)

 

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in recruiting, HR coordination, or administrative support
  • Experience with high-volume hiring environments preferred
  • Familiarity with background checks and pre-employment screening processes is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and follow-through
