Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our accounting team with a strong focus on Accounts Payable. This role will also assist with various accounting functions including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing environment, understands purchase order workflows, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including vendor setup, invoice processing, and weekly payment runs
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain strong vendor relationships
  • Process invoices through an automated AP system
  • Assist with month-end close and preparation of financial statements
  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain balance sheet accounts
  • Conduct budget vs. actual variance analysis
  • Prepare account analyses and reports as needed
  • Support year-end audit activities and external auditor requests
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Provide backup support for Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Payroll functions
  • Collaborate with the finance team on ad hoc projects
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phones when needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with purchase orders and invoice matching required
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Experience with AP automation tools is a plus
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
