Ascendo Resources is partnering with a business law firm client with large presence all over the state of Florida on their search for a Litigation Legal Assistant for their office in Tallahassee, FL.

About the Position:

The Legal Assistant is responsible for supporting attorneys and paralegals in the Business Reorganization and Dispute Resolution Teams. The role is focused on litigation support and document preparation.  This is a full-time position that will require in-office attendance Monday-Friday from 8:30AM-5:30PM

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, revise, and proofread various legal documents.
  • Prepare and file legal related documents in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts.
  • Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, and court appearances.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all firm and client information.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Required Experience/Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional legal support experience in bankruptcy law, including state and federal court procedures, Chapter 11, and creditor representation.
  • Experience with e-filing systems (CM/ECF) and docket tracking required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Outlook.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Knowledge of iManage or similar document management systems are preferred.
  • Flexibility to work overtime when needed.
  • Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
