Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our attorneys in family law, probate law, and general civil litigation matters. The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, highly organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment. This position requires onsite work in our Davie, Florida office during the probationary period, with the opportunity for a hybrid schedule after 90 days.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys handling family law, probate, and civil litigation matters
  • Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and court filings
  • File documents electronically through Florida e-filing portals and ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines
  • Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, court dates, and client appointments
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and third parties in both English and Spanish
  • Maintain and organize physical and electronic case files
  • Assist with case preparation, trial binders, and hearing preparation
  • Track deadlines and follow up on outstanding tasks to ensure timely case progression

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of legal assistant experience in family law, probate law, and general civil litigation
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (spoken and written)
  • Strong knowledge of Florida court procedures and filing requirements
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and legal case management software
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in a Florida-based law firm
  • Familiarity with legal billing and timekeeping systems
  • Experience interacting directly with clients in sensitive matters
