Staff Accountant

Location: Austin, TX (78727)
Schedule: Onsite

We are seeking a Temporary Staff Accountant for a contract assignment. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations while also assisting with administrative and manual tasks that help keep workflows running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Prepare and record journal entries as needed
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records
• Support audit preparation by gathering documentation and schedules
• Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail
• Prepare outgoing mail and manage postage supplies
• Assist with bank deposits and check handling
• Organize, file, scan, and digitize financial documents
• Provide general administrative support to the accounting team

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Basic understanding of GAAP and standard accounting practices
• Experience with accounting software (Workday or similar preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Comfortable with both accounting and hands-on administrative tasks
• Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality
• Strong organizational and time management skills
