A growing, global engineering organization is seeking an AP Accountant to join its lean finance team. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who can jump in quickly, manage high-volume accounts payable, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

This position plays a key role in overseeing the full accounts payable cycle while supporting broader accounting functions, including reconciliations and project-based accounting. The team operates across multiple entities, including international transactions, so attention to detail and adaptability are critical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage high-volume AP processing (500+ invoices/month)
  • Process payments through banking and vendor portals
  • Maintain accurate AP records in QuickBooks Desktop
  • Perform account reconciliations, including foreign currency transactions
  • Communicate with domestic and international vendors
  • Support project and construction-related accounting activities
  • Partner closely with internal teams including procurement and project accounting
  • Utilize Excel for reporting, tracking, and reconciliations

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with strong high-volume AP exposure
  • Experience with foreign currency transactions (required)
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and advanced Excel
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Experience working across multiple entities
  • Background in property management, nonprofit, or project-based accounting is a plus
  • Exposure to affordable housing or fund-based accounting is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred

Work Environment

  • On-site, Monday–Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • Collaborative, small accounting team with high visibility
