Ascendo Resources is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant for a full-time, on-site role based in Long Island City, New York. Salary range is $70,000 to $80,000 with full benefits and free of health insurance.

Our client is a growing, global engineering organization. We are seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to join its U.S. finance team. This is a high-impact role within a lean accounting group, offering strong visibility and hands-on exposure to high-volume AP, foreign currency transactions, and project-based accounting.

Key Responsibilities

• Process 500+ invoices/month in a high-volume AP environment
• Manage vendor payments across banking portals and international platforms
• Maintain and reconcile AP records in QuickBooks Desktop
• Handle foreign currency transactions and reconciliations
• Partner with Project Accounting and Procurement on cost tracking
• Perform account reconciliations and support month-end close
• Utilize advanced Excel for reporting and analysis

What We’re Looking For

• 5–7+ years of accounting experience (heavy AP required)
• Strong experience with QuickBooks Desktop
• Exposure to foreign currency transactions
• Experience in construction or project-based accounting preferred
• Advanced Excel skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred)
