Ascendo Resources is currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist with a focus on Employee Relations.

 

This is a full-time, on-site role with a salary range up to $85,000.

 

Our client is a well-established, transportation organization with decades of success and thousands of employees across multiple states. We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join its team. The company operates across transit, paratransit, and charter services, with a strong emphasis on safety, service, and employee development.

 

Position Overview

This role is heavily focused on employee relations, acting as a strategic partner to leadership while supporting a multi-state workforce. You’ll play a key role in investigations, compliance, training, and HR process improvement, while helping foster a positive and productive workplace culture.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead employee relations efforts including investigations, conflict resolution, coaching, and disciplinary actions
  • Partner with leadership to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with employment laws across multiple states
  • Design and deliver training programs (employee relations, performance management, compliance)
  • Support and improve HR policies, procedures, and workflows
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle (onboarding → offboarding) and ensure HRIS data integrity
  • Collaborate on career pathing, workforce planning, and employee development initiatives
  • Assist with corporate and leadership-level recruiting as needed

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience (strong employee relations focus required)
  • Solid knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Paylocity a plus) and LMS platforms preferred
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive situations and investigations professionally
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required; SHRM or PHR certification preferred
