Job Title: Project Accountant

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join a growing construction team. This role will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of multiple projects, including job cost tracking, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate and a strong understanding of construction accounting.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor job cost accounting across multiple projects
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjustments
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support month-end close and ensure timely reporting
• Analyze budget vs. actuals and provide variance insights
• Work closely with Project Managers to track project costs and performance
• Manage AIA billing, WIP schedules, and revenue recognition
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and project financial planning
• Ensure accurate data entry and reporting within Sage 300
• Support audit requests and maintain proper documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in construction or project accounting
• Strong experience with Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate required
• Knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, and AIA billing
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
