About the Opportunity

Our recruiting agency is partnering with a respected professional services organization to identify a Business Specialist - Conflict Checks. This role is ideal for a detail-driven professional with experience conducting conflict-of-interest checks and supporting compliance or risk-related functions. The position supports critical business and client?intake processes and requires discretion, accuracy, and strong analytical judgement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive conflict-of-interest checks for new clients, matters, lateral hires, and business initiatives
  • Research corporate entities, affiliates, ownership structures, and related parties to identify potential conflicts
  • Accurately document findings within conflict-check and client-intake systems
  • Escalate and communicate potential conflicts to appropriate stakeholders in a clear and timely manner
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and operations teams to resolve issues
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with continuous improvement of conflict-check processes and documentation

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Legal Studies, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 2+ years of experience performing conflict checks, compliance reviews, or risk research
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
  • Excellent analytical, research, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with database systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience

  • Background in a law firm, professional services firm, or corporate compliance environment
  • Experience working with legal conflict or client-intake systems
  • Familiarity with conflicts-of-interest rules and ethics guidelines
