Ascendo Resources is partnering with a well-established law firm in Charlotte, NC that is seeking an experienced Business Litigation Paralegal to support its Business Litigation and Employment practice groups. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team in a dynamic legal environment!

About the Role:

This is a full-time, non-exempt position working 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours/day), with occasional overtime as needed. This will be onsite for the first 90 days and then eligible for hybrid work.

Responsibilities:

• Draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, and employment-related filings
• Communicate with clients, witnesses, court personnel, and experts on litigation and employment matters
• Review and summarize depositions, personnel files, and discovery materials
• Assist with trial preparation and provide in-court support, including managing electronic presentations, coordinating witnesses, and organizing exhibits
• Manage e-discovery databases and electronic employment records
• Assist with document productions in litigation and regulatory matters
• Conduct legal and internet research on business and employment law issues
• Prepare and manage electronic filings in federal and state courts

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years of litigation experience, preferably in business litigation and/or employment law (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Proficiency with legal time and billing systems
• Large case management and trial experience strongly preferred
• Experience with eDiscovery software preferred
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with trial presentation software preferred
• Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and respond to urgent requests
• Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support colleagues during busy periods
• Proficiency in federal and state electronic filing systems
