Discovery Clerk (Property & Casualty Insurance)

 

A growing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Discovery Clerk with experience in Property & Casualty insurance to support litigation and claims-related discovery processes. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience managing discovery documentation and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires a professional who can work independently, maintain confidentiality, and effectively communicate with clients, attorneys, and internal team members.

Responsibilities

  • Draft legal and discovery-related documents, including initial, supplemental, and second discovery requests.
  • Prepare and file motions for extensions of time when necessary.
  • Maintain calendars and monitor critical deadlines to ensure timely completion of assignments.
  • Communicate with clients regarding discovery matters.
  • Assist with drafting and responding to discovery questions and requests.
  • Review documentation and records for production and compliance purposes.
  • Maintain accurate case files and records.
  • Prepare and provide monthly reports regarding filed discovery responses.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Support attorneys and staff with additional administrative and clerical duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Property & Casualty insurance, litigation support, legal administration, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading abilities.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Professional interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to perform a variety of clerical and administrative functions.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing).

Preferred

  • Experience working with discovery processes, litigation support, legal documents, or insurance defense matters.
  • Familiarity with legal calendaring and document management systems.
