We are seeking an experienced Certified Medical Biller with a strong background in anesthesiology billing to join our team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of ICD-10 coding, medical claims processing, insurance follow-up, and reimbursement procedures within an anesthesia practice setting.
Responsibilities
- Process and submit accurate anesthesiology claims to commercial, government, and private insurance carriers
- Review and apply ICD-10 diagnosis codes and ensure coding accuracy and compliance
- Manage claim edits, denials, appeals, and payment discrepancies
- Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable and unpaid claims
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations as needed
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, payer guidelines, and billing regulations
- Reconcile payments, post remittances, and identify reimbursement trends
- Collaborate with providers and internal staff to resolve billing issues and improve revenue cycle performance
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Biller and/or ICD-10 Certification required
- 2+ years of recent medical billing experience
- Required experience with anesthesiology billing
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Experience working with insurance carriers, claim submissions, denials, and appeals
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR and medical billing software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- CPC, CMRS, CPB, or similar certification
- Experience in a high-volume medical billing environment
- Knowledge of anesthesia-specific coding and reimbursement guidelines
