Estate & Probate Paralegal - Tampa, FL

Overview:

Seeking an experienced Estate & Probate Paralegal to support complex estate administration matters across multiple jurisdictions in Florida. This role requires a highly organized professional with strong drafting, filing, and case management experience in probate and trust administration.  Salary will be based on experience.  The client is very motivated to find the best talent.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, revise, and file probate documents (petitions, orders, inventories, accountings)
  • Manage probate cases from initiation through closing, including deadline tracking
  • Handle filings across all Florida counties and ensure compliance with varying court procedures
  • Maintain and organize electronic case files
  • Communicate with clients, attorneys, and court personnel
  • Prepare and assist with IRS filings (Forms 706, 709, 1023)
  • Support trust administration and respond to client inquiries regarding case status
  • Prepare deeds and other real estate-related documents
  • Draft entity formation and corporate documents (LLCs, corporations, partnerships)
  • Track billable time and assist with billing functions
  • Conduct legal research and provide general case support

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • 5+ years of law firm experience (10+ preferred), with a strong focus in probate
  • Florida trust & estates experience required
  • Large law firm experience preferred
  • Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) a plus
  • Strong knowledge of probate processes, filings, and court procedures

 

Skills & Competencies:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with legal case management and billing systems (iManage, Aderant, SmartTime a plus)
  • Estate planning/probate software experience (EstateWorks a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage high volume and competing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Client-facing experience with ability to build trust and maintain relationships
