Location: Miami, FL

Schedule: Onsite for first 90 days; 1 day Hybrid thereafter

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Real Estate Attorney with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience to join its growing legal team. This role will support a sophisticated commercial real estate portfolio and provide legal counsel on a wide range of leasing, contract, and transactional matters.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience drafting and negotiating commercial leases, reviewing complex agreements, managing legal risk, and partnering with business stakeholders to drive strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and administer commercial leases for office, retail, and mixed-use properties.
  • Prepare and negotiate amendments, renewals, estoppels, SNDA agreements, assignments, and related leasing documents.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts and business agreements.
  • Draft and negotiate license agreements and related occupancy arrangements.
  • Analyze and review title commitments, surveys, title exceptions, and other due diligence materials.
  • Provide practical legal advice and risk-based recommendations to internal business teams.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain contract and lease playbooks, templates, and negotiation guidelines.
  • Support process improvement initiatives and legal operations best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including real estate, operations, finance, and executive leadership.
  • Assist with transactional matters and special projects as needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active membership in The Florida Bar and good standing status.
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial real estate legal experience.
  • Significant experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating:
    • Commercial office leases
    • Retail leases
    • General commercial contracts
    • License agreements

     

  • Experience reviewing title commitments and real estate due diligence documents.
  • Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and issue-spotting skills.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to effectively balance legal risk with business objectives.

Preferred

  • Experience creating and managing legal playbooks, templates, and clause libraries.
  • Experience utilizing AI-powered legal technology tools to improve efficiency and contract management processes.
  • Experience with Ironclad Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) software.
  • Background supporting high-volume commercial leasing environments.
  • In-house legal experience is a plus.
