About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established financial institution in Miami, is seeking a Financial Analyst to join its Finance team. This position will support executive leadership by providing financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, profitability reporting, and strategic insights to help drive business decisions. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the banking or financial services industry and a strong understanding of financial institution performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial reports, management dashboards, and variance analyses.
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process and rolling financial forecasts.
  • Analyze revenue, expenses, loan portfolio performance, deposits, and profitability trends.
  • Develop financial models to support strategic initiatives, capital planning, and business growth.
  • Monitor key banking metrics, including net interest margin (NIM), efficiency ratio, return on assets (ROA), return on equity (ROE), and loan-to-deposit ratios.
  • Partner with Accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting and month-end close support.
  • Analyze branch and business line performance, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
  • Prepare executive presentations and reports for senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Support asset/liability management (ALM), liquidity reporting, and interest rate risk analysis.
  • Assist with regulatory reporting and financial data requests from auditors and regulators.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes and automate recurring analyses.
  • Participate in special projects, strategic planning initiatives, and financial due diligence as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of Financial Analyst experience within a commercial bank, community bank, credit union, or financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of banking financial statements and performance metrics.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling.
  • Experience with financial reporting systems, ERP platforms, or banking software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, CFA, CPA, or progress toward a professional certification.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or other business intelligence tools.
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting and banking compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting executive leadership or preparing Board-level financial presentations.
