Insurance Collections Representative – Temporary

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Collections Representative for a temporary opportunity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical insurance collections, including reviewing, appealing, and disputing insurance claims directly with insurance companies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a high volume of insurance collection accounts while maintaining accuracy and timely follow-up.

  • Review unpaid, underpaid, denied, and disputed insurance claims.

  • Research claim status and resolve outstanding balances directly with insurance companies.

  • Submit and follow up on appeals and claim disputes.

  • Communicate with insurance payers through online payer portals and by phone.

  • Review and work with healthcare claim forms, including UB-04 and HCFA 1500 (CMS-1500).

  • Navigate multiple systems, websites, and screens efficiently to research and resolve accounts.

  • Identify claim issues and independently determine appropriate next steps for resolution.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of collection activity and account status.

Qualifications

  • Previous medical insurance collections experience is required.

  • Experience reviewing, appealing, and disputing healthcare insurance claims.

  • Experience working directly with insurance companies and payer portals.

  • Knowledge of UB-04 and HCFA 1500 (CMS-1500) claim forms.

  • Strong technical skills and ability to quickly navigate multiple systems.

  • Ability to manage a high volume of accounts in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong multitasking, organization, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.

  • Self-starter who can work proactively and independently.

  • EMR system experience required; Soarian and Epic experience are highly preferred.

  • Experience with Managed Care, Medicare, and Medicaid is a plus.

Candidates with backgrounds such as Medical Claims Adjuster, Appeals & Denials Specialist, or Appeals/Denials Reviewer may be a strong fit.
